Matthew Chapter 6: 9-15
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as [it is] in heaven.11 Give us this day our daily bread.12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Prayer is a conversation with the Father! Not repetitive! He doesn’t hear repetitious prayers or prayers, not from the heart! It is a personal thing between you and Him! No One needs to tell you how to pray or what to pray for! If you don’t know how to talk to your Father in heaven! I feel sorry for you! The lord’s prayer was not to be repeated over and over! It was a guideline on how to pray and what to pray for! Talk to Him As you would talk to your dad! He’s more open to heartfelt prayers than He is to copying others’ prayers! Prayin in public also was not to be done! Prayers are a privet thing between you and the Father! Scripture is quite plain on how and when you should pray!
Matthew Chapter 6:5-8
5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
If you would read the scriptures for yourselves you might learn a thing or two! Huh? I see all the time people saying prayers for all to see! You remind me of the Pharisees and Sadducee’s!
Luke Chapter 18: 10-14
10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
Let His will be done in all things! Not your will or the will of others!
Ephesians 6:18 – Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Matthew 6:7 – But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen [do]: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.”
Even showing you scripture, you will not see! You the majority are blind and follow men instead of the Messiah who came to free you from the burden of sin! No matter how many scriptures we give you , you still cannot see! There is nothing we can do for you but for those who still see, He waits for you and you will receive the grand reward of everlasting life! That makes everything we do worthwhile! If just one of you repents the heavens are filled with rejoicing and song! Come on now make the angels sing! There is enough weeping!
